El Bolsón and Lago Puelo

A different excursion where the natural environment and its people transmit unique sensations.

129 km. south of Bariloche, along Ruta Nac. 40, find the town of El Bolsón.

The route, totally paved, borders the Gutiérrez, Mascardi and Guillelmo Lakes, crosses the Ríos Villegas, Foyel and Quemquentreu to enter the city. There, the visit to the famous Artisan Fair that brings together a huge amount of local products, and chakras that produce fine and sweet fruits. Cheeses and beer are famous artisanal 16 km. are the town of Lago Puelo and the National Park and Lake Homonymous, the latter, worth visiting for its colorful waters of shades turquoise. 11 km towards the southeast and through a beautiful valley you can reach the small town of El Hoyo (National capital of fine fruit). If you go with your car, 6 km.

Cabeza de Indio and the Mirador del Río Azul offer one of the most beautiful landscapes of the place.

Depending on the time of year, you can get to El Maitén to know "La Trochita", the Old Patagonian Express, (an old steam train in current operation) and the place where his old workshops work.
